ماذا سوف أتعلم؟

Develop the knowledge and skills to address the physical activity needs of special populations. If you have an appreciation for people with disabilities or chronic disease conditions, their lifestyle, and their exercise possibilities, you will find this program of interest. You will learn how to adapt traditional exercise forms, fitness assessment techniques and training protocols to meet the needs of people with physical and sensory impairments. You will learn how the health care delivery system works, and its implications for the field of adapted and therapeutic physical activity. Concentrations: Specialization in Clinical Exercise Physiology (66 credits). Admission is to the Major in Exercise Science. Students may apply for a transfer to Specialization after having completed certain courses and obtained a Grade Point Average of 3.0. Our program opens up careers paths in health- and fitness related sectors that can include: assessing human movement, performance and function in healthy and clinical populations; developing rehabilitation programs for people with various chronic diseases (including cardiac, pulmonary, metabolic, oncologic, renal) and clients with injuries; creating, planning and implementing a variety of fitness activities and programs for diverse populations; promoting healthy lifestyles to enhance quality of life; conducting workplace assessments to reduce the risk of employee injury.

Applicants who meet the stated minimum requirements are not guaranteed admission to these programs. Quebec Cegep (CRC): 25.000; Canadian High Schools: 80 per cent; U.S. High Schools: 3.0; University Transfers: B; International Bacc. (IB): 30; Bacc. Francais: 13/20. Science programs require completion of Serie S (Sciences) Bacc. Francais. Make sure you also meet Concordia’s minimum admission requirements. Quebec: You must complete a two-year, pre-university program or a three-year professional DEC (Diplome detudes collégiales). CRC minimum requirements for admission vary between 19.000 and 30.000; however, based on space availability, students below this average may be considered. Other parts of Canada: You must be a high school graduate, depending on which province you are from. Applicant from other countries must have the requirements equivalent to Canada. English language requirements: Direct Admission: TOEFL (paper-based) score between 540 and 576. Conditional Admission: TOEFL (paper-based) score between 505 and 539; MELAB minimum score of 74, 2 on speaking tests; CAEL minimum score of 50; CAE minimum score of C; CPE (advanced qualification for proficient users only) minimum score of C.
