The Bachelor of Education students in the Department of Economics receive a wide range of training within the subject, didactics and related disciplines.
The study of B. Ed. in economics serves to develop basic scientific competencies in order to develop them in the long term and to critically examine current economic issues. The B. Ed. a first general, scientifically based professional qualification for graduates in the field of economics. In addition to basic economics training, the course includes specializations in other core subjects of business administration (e.g. investment and financing; marketing; internal accounting; work, personnel and organization). In addition to subject-specific training, there is subject-specific didactic training that prepares students for teaching in a high school in a practice-oriented manner. In the educational science part of the course, students gain insight into pedagogical and school pedagogical issues. With the successful completion of the bachelor's degree, the graduates are able to move safely in the complex knowledge worlds of economics. Not only do they have solid analytical and methodological skills for describing, classifying and interpreting concrete economic processes, they are also able to quickly and effectively close knowledge gaps they have identified themselves.
The B.Ed. comprises a total of 180 ECTS credits, of which 81 ECTS credits (or 87 ECTS credits if the bachelor thesis is completed in the economics department) are completed in the subject economics.
