Gain the knowledge and skills required to specialise in systems administration.

This Level 6 programme covers a broad range of current applied knowledge and skills in systems administration. It incorporates content based predominantly on the Microsoft and Linux platforms, including server-based virtualisation, directory services, network protocols and infrastructure, automated system and application deployment, and IT service management. These provide core knowledge and skills expected of someone working as an IT professional.

CAREER OPPORTUNITIES

With this qualification you'll have the knowledge and skills required to gain employment in entry-level roles such as service desk support, junior systems administrator, and desktop support. With experience, you can advance to more senior roles including senior system administrator, tier two and three support, and manager.

STUDY PATHWAYS

The New Zealand Diploma in Systems Administration leads on to Bachelor of Information and Communication Technologies, and provides sufficient credits to reduce the length of the degree by a year. It can also provide a pathway to further specialisation through industry-specific training and help equip you to complete relevant industry certification.
