Whether you want to work in the police, an intelligence agency or in military intelligence, our lecturers will try to tailor the content to your areas of your interest.The development of confidence and capability will be emphasised from the very start of the programme, where students – having learned the core subject areas – will become practised and highly skilled in analysing intelligence and producing and delivering reports and outputs to a high standard.You will learn from skilled lecturers within the School of Aviation and Security who have a high level of knowledge, based on past and current work in their specialist areas across intelligence, security, military and the police.In addition, due to our close proximity to London and military locations, throughout the course you’ll hear from experienced practitioners delivering guest talks as well as attending a range of intelligence, security and resilience industry events.**What will I study?**In your Foundation Year, you will spend time adapting to study at university level, through a well-balanced mix of skills and subject-focused modules to help you make the transition into your degree.In your second year, you will grow your knowledge of intelligence processes, such as the National Intelligence Model using in policing. You will also develop your understanding in issues such as global security, policing and crime, business and management concepts and critical infrastructure (such as transport and energy) – all targets of intelligence analysis and counter-intelligence activities.In your third year, you will grow your knowledge and understanding of structured analytical techniques (SATS), using these against case studies sourced from current and proposed events. You will also develop an understanding of counter and commercial intelligence, as well as technical and communications intelligence.In your final year, you will grow your confidence in professional skill sets using tailored, realistic and challenging scenarios to challenge and stretch you, preparing you for employment. **What are my career prospects?**Effective intelligence analysts and managers become involved in a range of activities, from straightforward analysis, to project management, to board level participation and advice. Students require successful completion of a High School Diploma with GPA above 2.8, plus one of the following: SAT with a minimum of 1100 overall, and a minimum of 550 from Evidence Based Reading and Writing, and Mathematics; Minimum of 3 APs with grades above 3. International students with IELTS 6.0 (5.5) or below will have to undertake an enhanced curriculum in addition to the advertised programme.
