Through the George Washington University School of Nursing’s Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) option, students who already have a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field can pursue a professional nursing career. This 15-month, full-time path is based on-campus at GW’s Virginia Science and Technology Campus in Ashburn, Virginia.
In the Accelerated BSN program option, you learn about research and how to analyze and respond to health problems while providing exceptional patient care. You will learn to use the nursing process to support and promote health in diverse individuals, families, groups and communities.
The Accelerated BSN program gives you an opportunity to get hands-on experience at our Simulation Learning and Innovation Center before they ever set foot in a clinical setting.
As the curriculum advances, you will be placed in clinical rotations in top-rated facilities in the greater Washington, D.C., area. In these clinical rotations, you get invaluable exposure to medical and surgical nursing, obstetrics, pediatrics, psychiatric nursing and community health.
The combination of traditional classroom settings, our Skills and Simulation Center, online courses and clinical rotation experiences makes the Accelerated BSN option an exceptional choice for aspiring nurses.
