The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Comic and Sequential Art is designed for the student who wishes to develop marketable skills in the area of sequential art, which encompasses comic book and comic strip art, graphic novels, children's books and/or storyboarding for animation, video, and film. The program provides the student with an understanding of writing storylines, pencil and ink work, and digital sequential art applications. Areas of study include anime, superhero comics, digital painting for comics, comic strips, storyboarding and sequential picture books for children. It prepares students for employment, and upgrades skills of those already employed in this field. Employment opportunities include children's book illustrator, syndicated comic artist, storyboarded for television or film, animator for television or film, cartoonist, self-publisher, video game designer, penciler, inker, colorist, production artist, game designer, and comic book writer. A Certificate of Completion (CCL) is also available.

PC's open admission policy means that anyone can attend Phoenix College who:
Is a graduate of a high school, which is accredited by a regional accrediting association as defined by the United States Office of Education or approved by a State Department of Education or other appropriate state educational agency
Has a high school certificate of equivalency (GED)
Is at least 18 years of age and demonstrates evidence of potential success in the community college
as a transfer student in good standing from another college or university.
TOEFL - A minimum score on the Internet Base test (IBT) - 61, or Paper Base test (PBT) - 500
IELTS - A minimum score of 5.5
