Master of Professional Accountancy

أمريكا

ماذا سوف أتعلم؟

The Master of Professional Accountancy (MPAcc) at the University of Dayton does much more than help you to meet the eligibility requirements to sit for the CPA exam. It prepares you to meet evolving employer demands for critical thinking, problem solving, and communication, with a strong ethical base. This on-campus program is designed primarily for students who have completed an undergraduate accounting degree and prefer a full-time, face-to-face program of graduate study with small class sizes (normally 10 to 25 students). A full-time student can complete the degree in one year or less. For example, through the Bachelor's Plus Master's Program, a UD undergraduate accounting major can concurrently complete an undergraduate accounting degree and the MPAcc in four to five years. The degree may also be completed on a part-time basis. Non-accounting undergraduate business majors may also apply for the program; however, prerequisites are required.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE MPACC:

  • Outstanding employment opportunities - Over 100 organizations visit the UD campus each year to recruit accounting majors for internships and full time positions. These include Deloitte, PwC, EY, Grant Thornton, Fifth Third, Crowe Horwath, BKD, RSM, Clark Schaefer Hackett and KPMG.
  • Internship opportunities – Earn up to 3-credit hours of graduate credit by enrolling in Professional Work Experience and participating in a relevant supervised experiential learning experience with an approved employer.
  • CPA Exam Preparation – Earn additional hours to meet the 150 hour requirement to sit for the CPA exam and enhance your knowledge of test topics while completing required courses such as Critical Thinking: Role and Purpose for Accounting Professionals, Accounting Theory and Research, and Business Law for Accountants, as well as electives such as Information Assurance and Taxes and Business Strategy.
  • Learn from the Experts - In Professional Speakers Forum, interact with and discuss emerging and controversial accounting topics with representatives of, for example, the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB), and international accounting firms.
  • IFRS Certificate – Complete the ICAEW IFRS Learning and Assessment Program and earn an IFRS certificate from a globally recognized professional accountancy body.
  • Study Abroad – Potential to engage in a study of international accounting while in London and visit organizations such as the IASB, IIRC, international accounting firms and professional accountancy bodies.
  • Graduate Certificates – Complete 9-credit hours of study outside of accounting and earn a graduate certificate in one of the following: business intelligence, business analytics, business systems analysis and design, cyber security, or project management.
