Financial Economics is focused on the economic models used in finance, and the econometric skills needed to apply these models to financial markets and other economic data. Through this major you will gain high-level training to understand both how financial markets work and how to analyse financial data.This is an area of high employer demand which spans a range of diverse fields. As a graduate you will have excellent employment prospects in the financial sector or in a financial regulatory agency like the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA).The Bachelor of Arts / Master of Nursing is a combined degree that allows you to develop your analytical skills, think independently and form and articulate judgements based on argument and evidence while exploring different branches and interest in Arts and Social Sciences.You will complete a major or program from the Arts and Social Sciences disciplinary pool, along with an additional minor or second major from the disciplinary pool or the shared pool. Additionally, you will complete units from the Open Learning Environment, and any elective units as needed to make up the required credit points for the course.Your first year will be made up of only Arts and Social Science units and you will commence nursing subjects from second year onwards. You must meet a satisfactory academic standard to progress to the Master of Nursing. You will commence units comprising coursework and a substantial amount of practical work, with over 800 hours of clinical placements in the nursing component of your degree.
