The WSU economics major provides students with the theoretical tools and applied skills for economic analysis of business decisions and public policy. Through quantitative and qualitative analysis, students address business and policy problems and provide solutions that integrate objectives such as economic performance, sustainability, and social welfare. Key areas of focus include microeconomic analysis and industry regulation, macroeconomic theory and policy, and economic modelling for predictive analysis. Engagement with industry and professional associations is embedded in the program, enhancing employability in economics and business. Graduates pursue careers in public policy, banking and finance, consulting, and business development.
