In the Te Ara Poutama Toitū Te Reo awards, the student will emerge as a champion in the Māori language, a champion in teaching the curricula relevant to the different level (early childhood, primary school, wharekura) they have chosen. The bird that eats the thread owns the forest. The bird that eats knowledge owns the world. Learning through the Māori language is far superior. The survival of the Māori language is also a major issue. Therefore, it is essential that the world of Māori teachers obtain qualifications to lead the survival of the language in all corners of the world. The following are the qualifications for Te Ara Poutama Toitū Te Reo teacher training: The Path to Continuous Language Correction: Early ChildhoodThe Language Path: Primary SchoolThe Language Pathway: Two-Part (Primary School)The Language Pathway: Two-Part Certificate (Secondary School)They will develop their teaching skills through the medium of Māori, and explore topics from a Māori perspective and Māori education. They will also explore educational theories and learning styles relevant to the world of Māori language teaching. Graduates of Toitū Te Reo will receive a teaching qualification. Those pursuing the dual qualifications will focus on specific, designated topics.
