Criminology is the study of crime and the social and psychological constructions of crime. As an interdisciplinary social science subject, criminology draws on a range of perspectives, for example: criminal justice, sociology, psychology, law and social policy. Criminology aims to go beyond our common-sense assumptions and explore the complex and contentious nature of crime and criminal justice. On this course students will explore a number of the following criminological topics including: honour based violence, football hooliganism, gangs, cyber crime, child criminality, immigration and crime amongst other examples.
