Electronic and Electrical Engineering with a Foundation Year is designed for applicants who may not have studied the prerequisite subjects required for direct entry to the first year, have missed entry requirements due to extenuating circumstances, have prior elite sporting commitments, or are mature students and care leavers returning to education.Loughborough University’s Foundation Studies programme is designed to support a diverse range of learners in achieving their higher education aspirations. Its streamed approach allows students to begin their studies in a broader subject area before progressing onto one of several specific degree programmes within that stream-offering valuable time to make an informed course choice.This foundation programme is particularly suited to:Students who have not studied the necessary subjects for first-year entry onto their desired courseThose who did not meet expected entry requirements due to personal or medical circumstances (such as illness or caring responsibilities)Mature students or care leaversElite-level athletes facing the challenge of combining study with high-performance sport.Students enrolled on the foundation year are full members of the University and have full access to the Students’ Union, clubs and societies, sports facilities, academic support services, and the high-quality student experience that defines Loughborough University.
