The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Accounting at Aberystwyth University is an advanced research-based postgraduate qualification, where you research and write a thesis over 2 years. Members of staff are always happy to discuss possible PhD and MPhil research programmes in Accounting with suitably qualified graduates. Research should normally be related to one of the main areas of research of the department. Similar to a PhD, you will have the opportunity to pursue an area of interest under the guidance of a supervisor, and you will still be required to defend your thesis in a viva voce exam however, an MPhil involves conducting less in-depth analysis than a PhD does.
