Econometrics focuses on the application of mathematical and statistical techniques to the analysis of social, financial, business and economic data, which is available in ever-increasing quantity and complexity. It blends the essentials of economics with a balanced and rigorous training in modern econometric theory and associated empirical methods. This major will develop your understanding of the statistical analysis of data and give you an economic framework within which to interpret results.The Econometrics major provides training for areas of high demand, with employers increasingly looking for graduates with highly sophisticated quantitative skills. Outstanding employment prospects are available to graduates across a wide range of industries, both in the private and public sectors.The Bachelor of Arts / Master of Nursing is a combined degree that allows you to develop your analytical skills, think independently and form and articulate judgements based on argument and evidence while exploring different branches and interest in Arts and Social Sciences.You will complete a major or program from the Arts and Social Sciences disciplinary pool, along with an additional minor or second major from the disciplinary pool or the shared pool. Additionally, you will complete units from the Open Learning Environment, and any elective units as needed to make up the required credit points for the course.Your first year will be made up of only Arts and Social Science units and you will commence nursing subjects from second year onwards. You must meet a satisfactory academic standard to progress to the Master of Nursing. You will commence units comprising coursework and a substantial amount of practical work, with over 800 hours of clinical placements in the nursing component of your degree.
