Our Computational Engineering specialisation will provide you with a thorough grounding in the fundamental numerical and computational techniques used in fluids and structures engineering packages, in combination with the use of engineering modelling based on physical principles.This specialisation will also provide an understanding of parallel computer hardware and parallel programming including domain decomposition and message passing.It will enable you to develop and use engineering packages with an understanding of convergence, accuracy, efficiency and validation, as well as offer the opportunity to undertake a major project in a specialist area of computational engineering.The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Mechanical Engineering) is an undergraduate coursework program that will develop your ability to design, manage and maintain a diverse range of mechanical applications. Through practical learning and industry experiences, you will be ready to transform the use of machines across a range of innovative and emerging industries.This course is accredited by Engineers Australia and other major professional engineering institutions. You will complete degree foundational core units in mathematics and computing, along with a suite of multidisciplinary project units.You will also complete stream core and specialist elective units in mechanical engineering, and can choose to complete an optional specialisation. Additionally, you will complete elective units as needed to make up the requirements of the course from either the Engineering disciplinary pool or the shared pool.In your final year, you will complete an honours thesis in mechanical engineering. Throughout your degree, you will undertake professional engagement activities as part of the Professional Engagement Program, including engineering work experience in the final year.
