This course provides science graduates and food industry employees with the opportunity to develop theoretical and practical skills while working in a real food processing environment at the Murdoch Food Centre which is part of the Food Innovation Precinct Western Australia (FIPWA). You will have the flexibility to choose which units to study based on your particular interests or relevant field of work and have the option of progressing to the Graduate Diploma on successful completion of the Graduate Certificate. Food engineering and how to analyse and communicate how raw materials and processing affects final food product quality and nutrition. Food safety and how to adapt food production processes to incorporate risk analysis and food safety planning. Food product design solutions to address problems in, or improve, food products and systems (product development, quality improvement, shelf-life extension or engineering optimisation).
