The program will introduce you to laboratory medicine, with an emphasis on practical laboratory skills that will transfer to a modern pathology laboratory. Laboratory Medicine is designed for graduates of biology, biotechnology, biomedical science, or related degrees. If you are interested in a career in diagnostic pathology, this is the program for you. You will gain practical experience of the latest advances in diagnostic medicine. You will develop the knowledge and skills to generate diagnostic laboratory reports. Students will graduate career-ready with the skills and knowledge to work in a diagnostic pathology laboratory.This program also provides an entry pathway into the Master of Laboratory Medicine. You will receive credit for the courses you have already completed.

Entry into the Graduate Certificate in Laboratory Medicine (40 units) will be available for applicants who have:

A completed 3-year AQF 7 Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a Health, Medicine or Biomedical discipline; OR
completion of the MSL50122 - Diploma of Laboratory Technology qualification (or equivalent) + 3 years full-time (or part-time equivalent) relevent industry experience.
