The Master of Emergency Nursing aims to develop the specialist knowledge and skills required to work closely with patients and their families who are confronted with trauma, accidents or acute and unexpected illnesses.This course is designed for registered nurses working in the emergency environment who are looking to advance to clinical leadership roles or build professional practice capabilities.The Master of Emergency Nursing is a postgraduate coursework degree that will develop your specialist knowledge and skills to work closely with patients and their families who are confronted with trauma, accidents or acute and unexpected illnesses. You will complete core units along with 2 elective units. You will also complete a work- or research-based capstone.

Admission to this course requires:

a pre-registration nursing degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification with a credit average; or

a graduate diploma or graduate certificate in this discipline from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.

International applicants are required to have a minimum of one year's experience in intensive care nursing and have a choice of providing a statement of support from their supervisor if they wish to undertake the required clinical assessments in their home country, or else the clinical assessments can be undertaken at the Sydney Nursing School under simulated conditions.
