The Master of Information Technology (Information Design and Analysis) involves an in-depth study of the organisational, economic, regulatory and socio-technical issues that arise in the implementation of IT in business and government, and how to effectively manage those issues.This degree is suitable for those without an IT background seeking to develop the fundamental skills required to work in the sector, or to undertake a management role in which an understanding of IT implementation is essential.Information and data analysis is crucial for businesses today. The practice of information design and data analysis involves presenting information in a manner that maximises accessibility and comprehension for users. The Information Design and Analysis specialisation will provide you with the knowledge and skills in design, composition, interactivity, and visual information representation in decision support systems.On completion, graduates will have the opportunity to pursue careers such as a systems analyst, or ICT business analyst, as well as senior management roles.You will learn about knowledge systems, organisational and technical issues associated with information management and knowledge engineering, as well as how to use IT and information modelling techniques to support knowledge sharing and reuse. You will complete a capstone subject comprising either a research project or an individual professional project where you will apply theoretical knowledge in practical situations and tackle real-world problems often provided by our industry partners.
