The course aims to:
provide a two-year post-graduate social work program by distance that will lead to professional accreditation with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
produce social workers in rural and regional Australia where there is a national shortage and to open the profession to students unable to study by full-time internal modes in metropolitan universities
produce graduates who are committed to advancing social justice, human rights and thriving communities regionally, nationally and internationally through education, research, ethical practice and partnerships

Successful completion of a relevant three-year AQF Level 7 degree course that contains at least one year, or the equivalent, of full-time studies in the social and behavioural sciences.
