Asia is home to approximately 60 per cent of the worlds population, with Asian nations emerging as major economic powers while their populations assert their own cultural identities. Asian studies offers instruction in the languages, histories and cultures of China, Korea and Japan.The general program offers general exposure to the humanities and social sciences and an opportunity to concentrate studies in at least two subject areas. This program is particularly suited to students who wish to seek employment or enter a professional academic program following graduation from Arts.
