Collect and analyze data, research trends, and evaluate economic issues. Prepare for a rewarding career in economics with the Bachelor of Economics program at Laurentian University. This program is offered on campus and can be taken as a specialization, major, concentration, or minor. Economics helps us understand how society decides to use limited resources and shape the economy. It studies the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services in society. In class, you’ll be trained in quantitative data analysis, strategic thinking, and decision-making. You’ll take core courses in macroeconomics, microeconomics, and statistics. You also learn about Canadian economic policies and affordable housing, unemployment, inflation, inequality, monetary policy, and the role and responsibilities of the Bank of Canada, and money, financial markets, and international trade. When you graduate At the end of the program, you can graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, with a good understanding of economic theories and the analysis of economic problems and policies. and will have the knowledge and skillset to enter the workforce in a variety of areas such as finance and investing. You can also continue your studies with the Master of Business Administration (MBA) at Laurentian University.

Applicants require the successful completion of a secondary school diploma with the equivalent course requirements as Ontario applicants listed in the Grade 12 course equivalencies by Province section below.. Applicants from the Province of Quebec require a minimum of one full year of the Collège designment general et professional (CEGEP) program. Those who have completed more than one year of a CEGEP program will be considered for admission with advanced standing.. Applicants from other provinces or territories require a completed Grade 12 with a minimum 70% average. International Baccalaureate (IB) - Achieve a score of 4 or higher in English A: Literature or English A: Language & Literature (HL or SL) Note: English B does not meet the proficiency requirement.
