The dissolution of the former Soviet Union has changed the social, political and economic environment of Central and Eastern Europe.Our interdisciplinary program explores the massive social and cultural changes in Central and East European countries that have dominated the world's attention. Students will study literature, cinema, languages and cultures of the region, state formation and democratization, privatization, new market economies and more.The Faculty of Arts is known for its wide range of offerings and exciting learning opportunities for students. An education in Arts provides the analytical, creative, communication and problem solving skills that can prepare you for a future rich in opportunities.

Meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance into the program.Direct entry applicants are those who have not attended a post-secondary institution or have completed fewer than 24 credit hours at a recognized university or college.Advanced entry applicants are those who have completed one year (24 credit hours) or more of studies in another faculty at the University of Manitoba or another recognized post-secondary institution.
