Designed for students who are concentrating on the scientific study of language including phonology, morphology, syntax and semantics. This program is designed to help students understand how language and communication function. Students who concentrate on applied aspects of linguistics will have a good preparation for teaching languages and may be able to apply for official certification in Teaching Language as a Second Language (TESL). Linguistics is also a good platform for careers in law, education, publishing and the language software industry.
