Social science is the scientific study of human society and human relationships. Explore political turmoil, environmental change, social inequality and other things that affect people's lives in profound ways. Studying the social sciences gives you the inspiration to imagine new futures. It will also give you the skills needed to address society's most pressing challenges. Every student who applies to the Faculty of Social Sciences starts as an Undeclared student. You can take a variety of classes to explore your options, then declare your program after one or more years of full-time study.

completion of four years of full-time academic studies in which all language of instruction is English, at a high school or post-secondary institution in a recognized English-speaking countryHigh school diploma or equivalent (academic stream) with high-level results / minimum GPA 3.0 or equivalentcompletion of Grade 12 English or its equivalent in Canada with a final grade of 86% or higher within the last three years prior to admissiona score of 86% or higher on the BC Provincial Grade 12 English Examination within the last three years prior to admissiona score of 4 or higher on the Advanced Placement Exam in English Language and Compositiona score of 4 or higher on IB Higher Level English A
