Biology is the scientific study of living things — their form, function, origin, and behaviour.
Disciplines include cell biology, ecology, genetics and evolution, and animal and plant diversity.
At Mount Allison, Biology provides students with opportunities for hands-on learning, including research and laboratory experience.
First-year courses include studies of introductory organismal and cell biology, as well as biochemistry. In second year, material divides into ecology, genetics and evolution, statistics, and a series of form and function courses.

Students registering at Mount Allison are expected to have graduated from high school at the university preparatory level. International English Language Testing System – Academic (IELTS) score of 6.5 with no band score lower than 6.0; TOEFL score of 90 (internet test), With minimum band score: Listening: 17; Reading: 18; Speaking: 20; Writing: 17; CAEL (CE) - Canadian Academic English Language Assessment, Computer Edition – 70 With no part lower than 60; Cambridge English (B2 First, C1 Advanced, or C2 Proficiency) – 176 With no band score lower than 169.
