WHY STUDY ACTUARIAL SCIENCE AT DAL?

Set yourself up for a successful career by learning how to calculate and understand risk. You'll graduate prepared for the Society of Actuaries (SOA) examinations the final step on the path to becoming a professional actuary with internationally recognized credentials.

What will I learn?

The Actuarial Science program covers a broad range of topics to ensure you have a well-rounded understanding of assessing and managing risk using today’s latest digital technologies.

Core to the program’s curriculum are courses in mathematics statistics economics and computer science. The material you'll cover prepares you for an exciting career as a professional actuary – anywhere in the world.

  • Life Contingencies I

Careers and future study:

Many students who pursue a degree in Actuarial Sciences become professional actuaries working with private or public-sector employers to assess financial risks as diverse as natural disaster insurance premiums and the impact of climate change. Careers in the actuarial field include:

  • actuary
  • risk analyst or consultant
  • insurance underwriter

Future studies could include programs at the graduate level in mathematics statistics or business administration.

للطلاب الدوليين

Students must have

  • Completion of secondary school (i.e. Grade 12) with a minimum overall average of 70% in five academic Grade 12 courses
  • A final grade of at least 70% in Grade 12 English and any other required subject

English language requirement:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - 237 (computer-based) 90 (iBT) and no lower than 20 in each band
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - 6.5 overall and no lower than 6.0 in each band
  • Michigan English Test (MELAB) – 55
  • Pearson Test of English (Academic) - 61 overall and no lower than 50 in each skill

The application deadline for September entry is 1st April .
