The Department of Biology currently offers modules of study in Animal Behaviour, Biodiversity and Conservation, Biology, Ecosystem Health, Genetics, and Genetics and Biochemistry. Synthetic Biology is an interdisciplinary field that involves use of genetic and biochemical approaches to design and construct novel biological systems with user defined characteristics. The Honours Specialization in Synthetic Biology draws on teaching and research expertise in the Departments of Biochemistry and Biology. This module is jointly coordinated by the Departments of Biology and Biochemisty.
