Whether its the roads we drive on, the safe water we drink, the buildings we live and work in, or the rivers and lakes we enjoy, civil engineers impact many areas of our lives.The Department of Civil Engineering offers programs of coursework and research leading to the degrees of Master of Science (M.Sc.), Master of Engineering (M.Eng.), and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Civil Engineering.The objective of the M. Sc. and M. Eng. programs is to provide students with education beyond a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering to prepare them as specialized practicing engineers in the core civil engineering areas of environmental, geotechnical, structural, transportation, construction management and water-resources engineering. The Masters-level programs involve a significant course component. The M.Sc. program involves a research project and associated thesis in which students must demonstrate self-study capabilities and general mastery of a specialized field of civil engineering. The M.Sc. degree is attained through coursework and thesis. Expected Duration - 2 years.
