ماذا سوف أتعلم؟

The Department of Canadian Studies offers a Diploma for students who wish to undertake a single academic year (September to April) focused directly upon Canadian political economy, society, environment, and culture. Students wishing to enrol in the Diploma program must apply, in writing, to the chair of the department, indicating course preferences. As the number of spaces is limited, acceptance is not automatic. The chair or designate selects the successful candidates in consultation with the Admissions Committee. The Diploma is awarded in the spring along with a Trent University transcript identifying all courses undertaken and grades received. Upon successful completion of the Diploma, students may apply for admission to the BA program in Canadian Studies. Credits earned in the Diploma program are transferable to the BA degree.

شروط القبول

للطلاب الدوليين

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)

A minimum of six Grade 12 4U or 4M courses, including program specific prerequisites

A minimum 70% overall final average (unless otherwise specified)

ENG 4U with a minimum of 60%

IB Diploma:

Minimum overall score of 26 (including bonus points) in IB diploma*.
English Language A with a minimum grade of 4 satisfies English requirement. English B with a strong grade may also be accepted. See the English Language Proficiency requirements for acceptable tests and exemptions if you do not have the required course/grade as per above.
See the admission chart for program specific requirements. Prerequisite courses can be presented at Standard and/or Higher Level.

For programs with required “Mathematics”, we will accept the following:
