This program addresses the relationship between practice and theory in curriculum research, design, implementation, evaluation, and leadership, as well as expertise in educational technology and communication. Those choosing to pursue a Master of Education in Curriculum Studies will be encouraged to focus on aspects of praxis leading to expertise and leadership in that area.
Who would be interested in an M.Ed. in Curriculum Studies? Anyone participating in teaching in its various forms – in the K-12 system, the post-secondary system, and informal education – who wants to study one or more aspects of curriculum, such as research, development, implementation, evaluation and leadership for change.

A four-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.), or equivalent, from a recognized college or university.
A cumulative weighted average of at least 70% (U of S grade system equivalent) in the last two years of study (e.g. 60 credit units)
A minimum of one year of practical experience in education or a related field post degree if the applicant holds a BEd degree or a minimum of three years of practical experience in education or a related field post degree if the applicant does not hold a B.Ed. degree.
TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
Fully qualified: Overall score of 86 with minimum scores of 19 in each area
GPC qualified: Overall score of 65 with minimum scores of 15 in each area
IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
Fully qualified: Overall score of 6.5 with no score below 6.0 in each area
GPC qualified: Overall score of 5.0 with minimum 4.5 in each area
CanTEST (Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees)
Fully qualified: Overall score of 4.5 with minimum scores of 4.5 in each area.
