The MA in Irish will enable you to use Irish to a high standard and with a high level of accuracy. In addition, you will have the opportunity to explore a wide range of topics in Leann na Irish. In this way, this is a course that will develop your skills and greatly increase your understanding of the Irish language and literature, from the period of the New Irish Moiche down to the present day. You will acquire and develop valuable skills, which can be applied in a wide range of contexts and jobs including research, language, and analytical skills. You will also have the opportunity to develop communication skills and translation skills in project work, with the option of undertaking a period of work experience to increase employment opportunities after graduation. On top of all that, you will have the option of writing a thesis in creative writing.You will achieve a high quality of language and a high level of accuracy. You will have the opportunity to go in depth on a wide range of subjects in Irish Studies, Modern Literature, Folklore and Ethnography, Irish and English in the 19th/20th century, and Modern Irish and the Study of Manuscripts in the included.The course will be taught in the form of lectures, workshops and seminars. Particular emphasis will be placed on continuous assessment, together with active teaching and learning methodologies to foster interaction and self-directed learning.
