DIFC is the only NCUK study Centre in Ireland, our Pre Master programme equips students who have fulfilled the academic admissions criteria with the skills required to commence a taught postgraduate programme from day one. Masters Programmes in Ireland are 1 year in duration compared to years in the UK. On completing the NCUK the IFY or PMP course students will be placed on to a suitable degree or masters programme at one of the NCUK Universities.
The NCUK Master’s Preparation (known as the Pre Master Programme) is a modular course consisting of a core element and a subject theme. The core element includes modules in English for Academic Purposes (EAP), Learning Skills including Information & Communication Technologies (ICT) and Research Methodology that includes project planning and the submission of a 5,000 word dissertation. Students in the longer duration September intake programme also undertake an individual research project and complete a substantial dissertation
‘Management and Science’ is currently offered as the subject theme at DIFC. This is, however, used as a vehicle for practicing academic study skills and is relevant for students wishing to study a wide variety of subjects at postgraduate level.
Students graduating from a Masters in Ireland can stay in Ireland for 24 months in employment, following their studies.
