ماذا سوف أتعلم؟

Gain the knowledge and ability to successfully support a highly effective workforce. One of the most important resources in an organisation is its people. In your first year you’ll develop a depth of business knowledge and skills required for any commercial context. This includes skills in management, leadership, accounting, marketing, HR, law, economics and sustainability, as well as knowledge of Treaty of Waitangi/Te Tiriti o Waitangi. Then across your second and third years you’ll dive deeper into HR, where you’ll develop an understanding of human resource management practices and processes and their impacts on organisational effectiveness. You’ll also learn how to apply human resource management principles, tools and concepts in the workplace, to help staff and businesses meet their objectives. Areas of study will include employment relations, organisational behaviour, human resource management, contemporary issues in human resource management and health, safety and wellbeing leadership. Additionally, you’ll channel the knowledge and skills you acquire into a practical industry project for a local business or organisation, in which you’ll address business issues or advance business opportunities. In the process, you’ll strengthen your understanding of human resource management. Flexibility has been built into this degree, allowing you to not only to study part-time, full-time and/or in the evenings, but to choose two specialisations at no extra cost and requiring no additional time. Alternatively, you can personalise your degree by including up to five elective courses (Level 5 and above, equal to 15 credits each) from any subject area of your choosing.
