Postgraduate study in Cinema Studies at UC is offered within the Department of English. Our Honours courses are coded as English courses, but the Cinema Studies Honours year focuses on film topics and has specific prerequisites. Cinema Studies postgraduate students who pursue the MA, MA(Thesis), and PhD degrees in English have been recipients of the prestigious UC Master's Scholarship and have written on diverse film topics, including American independent cinema, the French New Wave, Japanese Anime, and Queer Cinema. Postgraduate students have the opportunity to tutor in 100-level Cinema Studies courses, which allows you to acquire valuable work experience.
