The Master of Education Mathematics Education will give you the opportunity to work with esteemed practitioners and researchers in this fascinating field. With a Master of Education Mathematics Education youll develop an understanding of the complexities of equitable and culturally responsive practices. Youll gain knowledge of specialised mathematics for teaching and learning within the early years, primary or secondary sectors. Youll also be able to plan and undertake research or a scholarship in mathematics education. Youll gain a high level of skill in analysis, synthesis and critical evaluation of mathematics pedagogy and curriculum. Your qualification options The Master of Education does not qualify you to be a teacher in New Zealand. If you want to be a teacher, you will also need to take a postgraduate teaching qualification. Further study If you want to advance to doctoral study, you will also need at least a B GPA in the Master of Education.
