Research overview Building technology focus on the strategies and systems used in buildings to ensure the comfort and well-being of occupants are met in a manner that acknowledges the need to use energy and other resources in a responsible manner. Research areas Subjects covered in this area of research include: • low/zero carbon buildings • eco-buildings heat recovery systems • computer modelling and building physics • acoustics • lighting • heat transfer and 2-phase flow • building services (eg heating, refrigeration, air-conditioning) • indoor environmental quality (eg thermal comfort and air quality) • ventilation/natural ventilation • thermal modelling • post occupancy evaluation biomimetics.
