BA (Hons) Design for Theatre & Screen with Professional Practice Year is a four-year degree programme, in year three you undertake a placement within the creative industries to further develop your skills and CV.Design the worlds where stories are told – for stage, screen, and everything in between.Whatever's in your imagination – a set, a costume, a puppet, a prop – you'll learn to design and make it here. Bring your vision to life at full scale, so that by the time you graduate, you'll have stood inside environments you designed and watched performers wear costumes you created.The course runs on a dual structure: you're always sketching a concept in one stream while physically building something in another, and over three years that constant back-and-forth between thinking and making is how you find out exactly what kind of designer you are.Industry connections run throughout the whole experience. Creatives from Marvel, the National Theatre, Marvel, and the National Film and Television School (NFTS) have all visited the studios, placements at Apple have turned into real jobs, and recent students have built a 4.8-metre LED-rigged set, made puppets for The Herds, and designed entire virtual environments.
