The CertHE STEM (Automotive Engineering) is a one-year, full-time course at our SA1 Waterfront campus. It gives you the core skills needed to succeed in the fast-changing automotive and transport industries. This Level 4 qualification is the ideal first step if you want to work with cars, motorcycles, motorsport, or progress to a full engineering degree.You will study the foundations of mathematics, engineering science, and vehicle technology, while gaining hands-on experience in workshops and labs. Modules cover topics such as motor vehicle engineering science, vehicle design, aerodynamics, and data analysis. A group engineering project lets you apply your learning to real-world challenges, building teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.The course also introduces you to sustainable engineering, green automotive technology, and low-carbon vehicle design. You will explore how modern vehicles are adapting to climate change and the drive for cleaner, smarter transport solutions.This programme is ideal for school and college leavers, mature learners, or those looking to reskill or change career. Graduates leave ready for entry-level roles in the automotive, motorsport, and transport sectors, or to progress directly onto a BEng in Automotive, Motorsport, or Motorcycle Engineering.
