The Young People, Communities and Youth Work Initial Qualifying route is designed for individuals aspiring to obtain a professional qualification in Youth Work. It provides them with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for entering the field. You need 2:2 honours degree or UWTSD recognised equivalent. However, applicants with vocational qualification and experience will also be considered. The Initial Qualifying Route is designed for individuals aspiring to obtain a professional qualification in Youth Work, providing them with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for entering the field. Given that our programme is professional endorsed, applicants must demonstrate that they have at least 200 hours of experience of working with young people by the time they start the PgDip/MA, either in a voluntary or paid capacity.
