Biology is the study of living organisms and their relationship to their environment. Study can be on the molecular level, the function level, the organism level or the specific environment level. Areas of study are as wide and varied as life itself. While much of the work of biology is done in research laboratories, some of it is also done in the field - collecting specimens, observing natural behaviors or completing population studies. Many who study biologogical sciences do so as preparation for a career in medicine or the allied health professions.
