In the Bachelor of Science in Digital Forensics program at UAlbany you will acquire the skills to gather digital clues in electronic data and connect the dots to build an entire story. This program prepares you for a career mitigating the risk from threats. Consult with Fortune 500 companies or federal government/law enforcement agencies on forensic technology, cyber risk, regulatory/compliance, and criminal investigations as well as perform cyber intelligence and systems defense related to cyber attacks. With this degree, you’ll be equipped to spot security breaches, gather electronic evidence (eDiscovery), manage risk and incident response planning and policy, and investigate regulatory compliance issues, criminal activity, and financial fraud. Special Program Designation The bachelor’s in digital forensics is a designated Center of Academic Excellence – Cyber Defense Education (CAE-CDE) institution through the National Information Assurance Education Training Program (NIETP). Sponsored by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), NIETP operates under national authority as the manager for cyber defense education and training relating to national security systems.
