The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in environmental policy is an interdisciplinary program in environmental studies. It rests on the premise that students must be able to combine an understanding of the scientific basis for environmental problems with knowledge of human needs, history, politics, and economics to derive practical solutions to environmental issues. Correspondingly, coursework involves classes with environmental scholars in various natural science, social science, and humanities departments. While providing a rigorous and broad educational experience, the major also allows students to custom design an area of strength using elective course work.Learning OutcomesStudents who complete the undergraduate program in environmental policy will:Demonstrate proficiency in both the natural sciences and the social sciences.Develop an ability to connect material between different disciplines with regard to an environmental topic.Become passionate about learning and analyzing environmental challenges. 3a. Demonstrate ability in analyzing environmental challenges. 3b. Display interest in learning beyond the classroom.
