The Diplomacy and Critical Theory concentration provides a foundation for those interested in interrogating the power and practices associated with the field of diplomacy. The concentration provides preparation for a variety of careers, as well as advanced studies in the field. Students selecting this concentration will study critical social theory, culture and identity, and the impact of post-colonial studies on the practice and study of diplomacy. DePaul's program in Applied Diplomacy addresses these realities through an innovative program designed to train a new generation of diplomats. At both the undergraduate and graduate level the curriculum is multidisciplinary in expertise, deeply rooted in an ethic of collaboration and is designed to serve the needs of bridge builders across multiple boundaries of difference.​
