The DePaul Sound Recording Technology (SRT) program is a four-year program designed to prepare students for a career in the audio industry by developing a solid foundation of traditional musical skills and extensive training in contemporary music technology. The SRT program is contained in the School of Music and culminates in a Bachelor of Science in music with emphasis in sound recording technology. Students enter the SRT program on a performance track or an audio technology track. All SRT students take a rigorous curriculum of music theory, electronics, synthesis, math, and recording. Students in a performance track take applied lessons and play in ensembles students in the audio technology track have performance opportunities in their studio classes and substitute audio classes in TV broadcast, game audio, film scoring, and music business for applied lessons and ensembles.
