The BA in Physics with Teaching of Physics Concentration provides the essential background in physics and mathematics necessary for teaching physics at the secondary (grades 7-12) level.What will I learn?As a physics major, you’ll take courses in chemistry and mathematics, along with classes covering classical mechanics, electricity, magnetism, thermal and statistical physics, quantum mechanics and relativity.At UB, we try hard to take the friction out of learning. Demonstration-filled lectures show concepts in action, while hands-on labs give you experience with circuits, forces and other topics, to help you fully understand the underlying phenomena.

If you have an above-average academic record and have taken challenging courses in high school that prepare you to succeed at university. UB uses a 4.0 grading scale, and we expect applicants to have the equivalent of a 3.0 on that scale. That is the same as a grade of B, or 83 on a 100-point scale.
