The specialization in economics provides students with knowledge of analytical methods for solving basic problems affecting profit and growth of the business organization. In addition, economics offers courses that are fundamental to forecasting, planning, and budgeting. Graduates of the program are qualified for careers in: administration and management of business firmsbanking and insurancefederal, state and local government agencies To graduate with this specialization, students must achieve a GPA of 2.25 on a 4.0 scale in all economics courses.

Students seeking a bachelors degree from SIUE who have never attended a college or university, and those who may have taken some coursework at a college or university outside the U.S. but do not currently hold a bachelors degree.Submit official records showing grades for all years of secondary/high school AND official exam results or certificate/diploma. Applicants who have attempted at least 30 semester hours (or 45 quarter hours) of college-level transfer credit (either from the U.S. or abroad) are not required to provide secondary school records.Meet English proficiency requirementTOEFL: 72IELTS: 6.0 (no component score under 5.5)
