Examine the composition and properties of matter. Through this program, you'll develop a mental library of common substances, their physical properties, and the reactions they undergo. Your academic and laboratory work will familiarize you with the major classes of organic chemicals, their reactions, and the characteristic reactions of other periodic table elements. You'll conduct lab experiments, learn to communicate results using scientific language, and gain awareness of the global context in which results and theories are formulated, communicated, and debated.
