The Bachelor of Science degree in Public Health and Community Wellness prepares students for careers and/or graduate study in the fields of clinical healthcare focusing on population and community-based healthcare, or biomedical research, and graduate programs offering dual credentials in healthcare and Public Health (such as MD/DPH). This program examines health from both a traditional, science-based medical model and holistic, population-based model. This field of study includes bioethics, health law, healthcare administration and policy, epidemiology, health education and outreach, and psychosocial aspects of healthcare. There is an emphasis for students to obtain clinical experience in the healthcare profession of interest, such as hospitals, community-based health clinics, and outreach programs targeting populations in need.
