Illinois Tech’s Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Engineering degree is awarded in recognition of a high level of mastery in the subject matter and significant original research contributions in biomedical engineering. Recipients of the doctoral degree will be capable of continuing efforts toward the advancement of knowledge and achievement in research and other scholarly activities, and typically pursue careers in medical, industrial, or academic environments. This program provides a high level of mastery and a significant original research in biomedical engineering. Students will be capable of continuing efforts toward the advancement of knowledge in research and other scholarly activities or medical, industrial, or academic careers.
